Introducing Dog Leashes to Your Dog

Most pet owners feel anxious while they have to tie a collar and leash on their dog. The larger variants of dog leads and collars in the market also increase the confusions. The selection of dog leashes needs to be done accordingly the breed and size of the dog. Also his behaviours and training affects the choice. It could be a challenge for the people who recently brought a dog of extremely small or large size.

Putting on the Dog Leads and Collars:

The right place – A regular and wide place is best for starting. You may not complete it in the first go. Read the user manual and browse online tutorials for putting on the same kind of collar. Choosing a congested place may be problematic if your dog has some behaviour issue.

Keep away from chew – It’s quite common that the dogs try to chew the collar and the leash too. Distract them for chewing through giving them some chewing toys. You may try other ways to get rid of this action.

Pick Up the Leash – After putting on the collar perfectly knot the leash with the tug. There are common lengths available as 3 feet and 6 feet. Hold the strap and try to walk for a short distance.

Avoid Corrections – You have not putted these for punishing him. So be gentle while holding the leash. The practice of correcting the behavioural issues using the dog leashes is not a good idea.

Next, you can plan to go for a walk with your dog and his collar. It is advised to practice it more often for next few days. In a week or less, your dog will comfortable walk with the leash.
